A journal of sorts.

I am an avid photographer with a love for digital processing. The Bearded One and I have become "Townies" once again and are in the process of transforming our suburban nest into a peaceful refuge.
This blog is where I like to stash things. An assortment of random thoughts, a recipe or two, a few of my favorite photos, and the processing thereof.

Getting back in the "groove"

Cottage Life

Today was rainy. No it was torrential... There were however a couple of sun breaks. It was during those fleeting moments that I grabbed my camera.

Fall is definitely here. The blooms are beginning to fade, and the leaves are starting to fall.  Finding things to shoot when the weather is dreary is always a challenge. Hopefully we will have some dry days to capture some good fall leaf color before everything turns to smush.

Before and After

My friend and co-worker Terry. Had the camera in my hand, and he was handy. You can see by the before shot that there was no planning what so ever. Look at the orange ladder behind him, and notice that I couldn't get a clear shot of him from the front.

After

I cropped the picture, trying to keep with the "Rule of thirds". I've removed the foreground object and texturized the background to "lose" the ladder. In the Black and white version I've added a little "grain" and a funky border.

Healthy Choices

Okay Gluten free again. Broken record. Chub Cam will be back next monday. The Stick "O" Butter meter will be adjusted and here we go again. Nothing like a little stress to throw off the game plan. Tried some Chia seeds as suggested by my daughter. Those things are wierd. Kind of like tapioca when you add liquid to them. I added cream, cinnamon, raisins, and a little splenda. Not bad.

Hmmm... Pause for Thought

“I know what it's like. I've seen it played out a zillion times. You're waiting for that magical day when someone makes the connection and recognizes who you really are. Maybe they'll first catch the sparkle in your eye. Or perhaps they'll marvel at your insights and the depth of your spirit. Someone who will help you connect the dots, believe in yourself, and make sense of it all. Someone who will understand you, approve of you, and unhesitatingly give you a leg up so that life can pluck your ready, ripened self from the branch of magnificence. Well, I'm here to tell you, your wait is over. That someone, is you.”
